In the heat of these summer months it’s important to stay cool and hydrated. Every choice you make to take better care of yourself will allow you to take better care of others.

This week’s blog offers seven action steps you can use to rejuvenate your body and mind. Your soul will always guide you towards feeling good so trust your intuition to point you in the right direction.

I Am Rejuvenated

Vitality is restored when you carve out time for yourself. Being in nature feeds your soul and helps you gain a fresh perspective on life. Simply by attuning to the natural world you’ll feel refreshed and rejuvenated

“We must always change, renew, rejuvenate ourselves; otherwise, we harden.” ~ Goethe

ACTION STEPS

Rejuvenate means to make youthful. Stress and fatigue melts away when you take the time to recharge. It allows you to return to your day-to-day responsibilities feeling lighter, healthier and happier. Create daily rejuvenation rituals to stay young and vital.

You have an inner well that must be filled up daily with peace, joy, love and gratitude. Peace comes in quiet moments of stillness. Joy arises from being true to yourself. Love is your natural state of being kind and compassionate. Gratitude comes from appreciating yourself and others.

Spending time in the mountains or by the sea is a natural rejuvenator. Breathe fresh air into your lungs and hold it for a few seconds. As you exhale slowly imagine filling your whole body with revitalizing oxygen. Repeat several times and notice how you feel.

Cooling foods like cucumber and watermelon are especially hydrating for your body. Try putting them together with arugula and chopped nuts for a rejuvenating salad. Pomegranate juice mixed with sparkling water makes a refreshing drink. Taking a nap is a great rejuvenator. Fifteen minutes of deep relaxation is equivalent to a three-hour nap and will restore your body and mind to their natural state of balance. Simply tighten and then relax all your major muscles as you breathe deeply to release tension. This calms your nervous system and allows you to let go and be at ease.

Sweet potatoes have been credited with rejuvenating properties. If you are deficient in certain vitamins and minerals you could experience a sense of rejuvenation after eating a sweet potato. Include a variety of organic plant-based whole foods in your diet to make sure you're getting the quality nutrients your body deserves.

Practicing yoga is like giving your body an internal massage. I created Satori Yoga over thirty years ago as a way to remove the blocks of stress, worry, fear, and doubt and increase the flow of vital energy. This 75-minute practice rejuvenates your body, mind, heart and spirit.
